Jun Fujiwara was born in Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture in 1979, and continues to work as a potter as the fourth generation of Kosendo, a pottery company that has been continued by his great-grandfather. In 1998, he graduated from the large-scale wheel-throwing course at the Shigaraki Ceramic Technology Testing Center, and in 2013 was certified as a Shigaraki ware traditional craftsman. He has held solo and group exhibitions both in Japan and overseas, and has attracted many fans with his unique worldview and high level of technique.
