Daisuke Mino's "Mother's Rice Bowl, Hatoba Glaze" is a medium-sized bowl. Daisuke Mino, who has his own unique sensibility, named the bowl sizes "Oton (large) Okan (medium) Yaya (small)". Not too big, not too small, it is just the right size for a woman to eat a bowl of rice.

Artist Daisuke Mino - Simple yet warm, colorful tableware

Born in Osaka in 1980, Daisuke Mino is a ceramic artist with a background in architecture. He graduated from the Department of Architecture at Kindai University in 2003, and entered the world of ceramics after joining the ceramics club while at university. He then graduated from the Ceramics Department of Kyoto Traditional Crafts College in 2005, and began to pursue a career in ceramics in earnest.

For five years from 2005 to 2010, he studied under Akira Okamoto at the Kasatori Kiln in Sumiyama, Kyoto, learning traditional pottery techniques and honing his own expression. In 2011, he set up his own studio in Takayama, Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture and became independent. He was also appointed as a "manufacturing supporter" by the non-profit organization Kyoto Hot Heart Center and seconded to the social welfare organization Tender House, and was involved in activities beyond the scope of pottery.

In 2014, he moved his studio to Hokkejicho in Nara City, where he continues to energetically create works. His unique works, which combine his knowledge of architecture with ceramic techniques, are loved by many people as vessels that blend naturally into everyday life, with simple yet sophisticated beauty.
