Natsumi Ishii

Simple, everyday-use pottery made of powdered iron and painted A vessel with a story
He is a potter in Kyoto City. He also works under the name "Ishiimoke" and creates unpretentious tableware for everyday use, focusing on Kohiki pottery. The color of the earth faintly peeks through from beneath the white glaze, and the Kohiki pottery has a simple and gentle look that is appealing. Despite its simple shape, the balance of the rim lines and foot is playful, making it a vessel that looks strangely good no matter what is served on it. In addition, in collaboration with painter Kawamura Aiko, he adds patterns reminiscent of the world of antique art, creating vessels with a story to tell. His works are filled with a soft and familiar world that is imbued with the atmosphere of Kyoto.
