Charcoal firing is a technique in which charcoal and the work are placed in a pot called a sayabachi and fired at high temperatures without using glaze.

There are a wide variety of baked colors, including those that reflect a gradation of pale beige and gray, and those that have a vivid contrast between black and white.

This is the only one-of-a-kind pottery in the world where no two pieces have the same pattern or color.

The deep square bowl is the perfect size for serving main dishes.
