One-of-a-kind Cup & Saucer Set from "Narutaki-gama," Inheriting Bizen Ware Tradition

Narutaki-gama, located in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, is a pottery studio known for creating works that blend the traditional beauty of Bizen ware with a contemporary sensibility.

They prioritize techniques that maximize the power of "earth" and "fire," the origins of Bizen ware. Without using glazes, the unique patterns such as "goma" (sesame seed pattern) and "hidasuki" (scarlet marks) are created by firing for approximately two weeks at temperatures over 1200 degrees Celsius, while also producing tableware that fits into modern dining settings.

Committed to the natural firing process of climbing kilns, they pursue perfection in "growing vessels" that gain character the more they are used. Their works possess a profound presence yet evoke a sense of warmth.
