Tableware with hand-painted designs that bloom gently in your life
The "Hand-painted Oval Flat Plate" from TATA Pottery Studio is a piece where Daiki Tanaka has shaped a soft oval form, and Kyoto ware painter Katsura Tanabe has applied delicate brushstrokes to create the design. The motifs, such as flowers, plants, animals, and still life, are depicted with gentle lines and spacing, evoking a page from a story and bringing a calm lingering impression to the dining table. It's perfect for breakfast bread, baked goods, appetizers, and fruits. The design subtly complements the food as a background, making it a unique TATA piece that functions both as tableware and an art object.

Ceramic artist Daiki Tanaka (TATA Pottery Studio) who lives with clay
After graduating from the ceramics course at Kyoto Seika University, Daiki Tanaka honed his skills under Mori Murata and became independent in 2015. From 2024, he presents his personal works (raw clay/pottery making) under the name "Daiki Tanaka," while his collaborative works with Kyoto ware painter Katsura Tanabe are presented as "TATA Pottery Studio." Daiki Tanaka's craftsmanship is characterized by his pursuit of "beauty in utility" and his respect for the story that connects clay to tableware. The flow of natural glaze and the unevenness created by firing in a wood-fired kiln appear as if the firing process has been answered in the piece, and the subtle variations in its expression bring a small drama to everyday life. TATA Pottery Studio also develops collaborative works with Kyoto ware painter Katsura Tanabe. The vibrant painting enriches the expression of the sake cup, and Tanaka's playfulness and Tanabe's delicate brushwork shine through in the painted works.
