Characteristics of Masanori Yamamoto's Works
Masanori Yamamoto's works are characterized by "shinogi" patterns meticulously hand-carved one by one. The "shinogi" patterns are rhythmic and dynamic, giving the vessels a rich expression. There are three series: one with diagonal "shinogi" patterns, another with vertical lines carved and fine diagonal carvings in the remaining areas, creating a warm, knitted-cable-like texture ("nawame" pattern), and the "hana-shinogi" series, which appears as vibrant as blooming flowers.

Masanori Yamamoto's vessels, crafted in the traditional kiln inherited from his grandfather, embody the legacy of Shigaraki ware while also reflecting his unique sensibilities. He creates a variety of vessels, including rimmed plates, soup cups, curry plates, yunomi, and mugs. By arranging "shinogi" patterned vessels, you can bring a vibrant impression to your dining table. Furthermore, his pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe, combining practicality for daily use with beauty, and are highly regarded for their designs that enhance food presentation. He focuses on preserving the subtle expressions and textures unique to handmade items and providing lightweight and easy-to-handle vessels.
