Vertical Iron Wire Egg Mug

The "Tatetetsusen Egg Mug" by Furuya Seitosho features a round shape that fits snugly in your hand. Its cute design is not only appealing to look at, but also provides a comfortable grip that fits comfortably in your hand. About Furuya Pottery

Furuya Seitosho is a pottery studio based in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture, that continues the tradition of Shigaraki ware to the present day. The studio's representative, Koichi Furuya, is known as a master craftsman who creates works that make the most of Shigaraki clay.
We offer tableware suitable for everyday use, taking advantage of the characteristics of Shigaraki ware's earthenware and glaze.

Furuya Seito's products, which pursue both "ease of use" and "beauty of appearance," have received high praise both in Japan and overseas and are masterpieces that perfectly combine practicality and artistry.

Handmade to make the most of Shigaraki ware

Furuya Seitosho's works are based on Shigaraki ware. Shigaraki ware is one of the six ancient kilns of Japan, and is characterized by its unique texture, which is created by using soil collected from the rich natural environment and firing at high temperatures. The texture created by this soil and glaze combines warmth and simplicity, gently decorating your everyday dining table.

At Furuya Seitosho, we use hand-crafted techniques that utilize line patterns made with iron brushes and light and dark shades of glaze to create unique and luxurious pieces.

Notes

As these cups are all handmade, they may have some wobbling, distortion, small holes, or unevenness. In addition, as they are made from natural materials, there may be iron spots (black spots) in the clay, glaze flow, or pinholes.
Even if the same design is used, no two pieces are exactly the same. Please enjoy the individuality of each piece.

If you purchase multiple pieces, we will try to choose pieces that are as similar in appearance as possible, but there may be slight differences in color and shape between the pieces you already own and the newly purchased pieces. Please understand this before making your purchase.

Furuya Seitosho's Shigaraki ware cups are masterpieces that embody the warmth and tradition of handcraft. Each cup has a unique personality, with its round shape, iron brush pattern, and glaze color.
Be sure to get your hands on this cup, which will add a special touch to your everyday dining table. It is also an excellent item that will undoubtedly be appreciated as a gift.
